A former resident writes about how his confidence developed at Ruth Dykeman Children's Center 

Dear staff,
When I first got here, I had semi-severe anger problems, such as punching and breaking holes in walls and destroying other property. Now, I’ve matured enough to know I’m not hurting anyone but myself. I also used to get in peoples’ faces, posture them and push my peers; but, now I just take time for myself in my room.

Ruth Dykeman Children’s Center’s (RDCC) mission is Success and Self-Sufficiency for Children, Family and Community
 
RDCC’s Youth and Family Services (YFS) offers families and individuals facing social, emotional and economic challenges, innovative and culturally sensitive programs that build on the individual’s own strengths. YFS offers youth and families living in the South King County area services in the Highline and Tukwila schools, Burien Youth Health Center, in individual homes and at the YFS office.
